ZENITH - by NOVEL GREY
ZENITH — Sculptural Concrete Meets Integrated Light
A wall that changes with the light
ZENITH transforms a wall into a three-dimensional architectural landscape. Sharp peaks, deep valleys and precisely formed surfaces create a continuously changing pattern of light and shadow.
The original ZENITH tile was developed by Novel Grey and inspired by the geometry of mountain ranges. YourSenses and LEDw@re add a new dimension by integrating light directly into the composition.
The result is more than decorative wall cladding. It becomes illuminated architecture.
Light as part of the pattern
Selected concrete tiles can be replaced by identical light-transmitting modules manufactured from opal PMMA, translucent resin or another suitable diffusing material.
These illuminated modules retain the dimensions and sculptural geometry of the original DUNE tile. The pattern therefore remains completely uninterrupted—whether the lighting is switched on or off.
During the day, the installation appears as one continuous three-dimensional surface. In the evening, carefully positioned tiles begin to glow and reveal a second composition within the wall.
Depending on the project, the lighting can be integrated in several ways:
- Individual illuminated ZENITH modules
- Two or three light modules positioned in one line
- Asymmetrical light compositions
- Light between selected tile joints
- Indirect illumination behind a complete artwork
- Individually controllable or dimmable light zones
- Controlled warm light
The light is softly diffused to prevent visible LED points and harsh hotspots. A warm colour temperature of approximately 2200K complements the concrete surface and emphasises the depth of the sculptural relief.
The illuminated elements are intended as atmospheric and architectural light. They are not designed to overpower the tile itself.
ZENITH remains the artwork. Light reveals its character.
From complete wall to autonomous artwork
ZENITH can be applied as full wall cladding or developed as a freestanding wall composition. Its modular geometry makes it possible to create square, rectangular, vertical and custom-shaped installations.
Suitable applications include:
- Luxury residences
- Hotel lobbies
- Restaurants and lounges
- Reception areas
- Boardrooms and offices
- Retail interiors
- Galleries and exhibition spaces
- Bespoke architectural projects
Every composition can be adapted to the dimensions, materials and lighting requirements of the interior.
- Technical specifications — original ZENITH tile
- Dimensions: 149 × 148 mm
- Thickness: 28 mm
- Weight: approximately 700 g
- Quantity: approximately 71 tiles per m²
- Material: sustainable concrete
- Finish: semi-gloss and water-repellent
- Application: interior and exterior wall cladding
Available colours include Yellow Gold, Minty Green, Wine Red, Warm Orange, Old Pink, Dove Grey, Basalt, Pebble Grey, Cloudy White, Deep Green, Sand and Peach.
Lighting specifications, mounting construction, drivers, dimming protocol and colour temperature are configured for each project.
Bespoke development
LEDw@re develops the technical lighting system behind the installation, including:
- LED modules and light sources
- Opal diffusion
- Custom mounting structures
- Dimmable LED drivers
- DALI, Casambi or conventional control
- Cable management
- Prototyping and project engineering
For larger projects, mock-ups and lighting tests can be produced before final installation.
