Bjorn van den Berg — MD3 Mini Rail Lighting

Jewellery deserves lighting that reveals its character without stealing the spotlight. For the showroom and kitchen of Bjorn van den Berg, LEDware supplied the MD3 Mini Rail system: a compact lighting solution that combines discreet design with carefully directed illumination.

Against deep green walls, dark display furniture and elegant architectural details, the slim black rails blend naturally into the interior. The miniature spotlights bring the jewellery into focus, highlighting reflective surfaces, colourful details and sculptural forms.
Discreet integration, distinctive results
The showroom’s sloping ceilings called for a lighting solution that would complement the architecture rather than dominate it. MD3 Mini Rail introduces a slender line above the presentation areas, keeping the installation visually understated.

The compact, adjustable spotlights direct light towards individual pieces and display groups. This creates a deliberate contrast between the softly lit surroundings and the jewellery on display, giving each presentation its own presence.

The result is an intimate, gallery-like atmosphere where the collection remains the centre of attention.
Light where the detail matters
From open jewellery boxes to glass-covered displays, each presentation benefits from a considered lighting direction. In this project, focused accents reveal the shapes and reflections that make the pieces visually distinctive.

The small scale of MD3 is particularly valuable here. The lighting remains proportionate to the jewellery and display furniture, avoiding the visual weight of larger track fixtures.

As collections and arrangements change, the rail system allows the spotlights to be repositioned and redirected. The lighting can follow the presentation, rather than requiring the presentation to follow a fixed lighting layout.
From showroom to kitchen
The MD3 Mini Rail system was also selected for the kitchen, extending the same restrained design approach beyond the display spaces.

Using one compact lighting family across both areas creates a consistent visual language while allowing the illumination to serve different purposes: focused product presentation in the showroom and practical lighting in the kitchen.
