Sparta Sponsor Box | Light as Part of the Interior
For the Sparta Sponsor Box, LEDw@re created a custom lighting solution in which light is not just functional, but becomes an integral part of the architecture.
The large translucent wall panels and illuminated bar completely change character once the lighting is switched on. Structures, colours and natural patterns that appear subtle during the day gain extra depth and intensity through backlighting.
The result is not a conventional illuminated wall, but a combination of material, interior design and lighting technology.
15 m² of Uniform Backlighting
Behind the translucent panels, we used our 24V Flexible LED Sheets. Thanks to the high LED density and wide beam angle, the surfaces are illuminated extremely evenly while requiring only a limited installation depth.
For this project, two separate illuminated areas were created:
9 m² LED surface
6 m² LED surface
15 m² total illuminated surface
approximately 62.5 metres of Flexible LED Sheet
3000K warm white
CRI >90
approximately 1,875 watts total LED power
fully dimmable
The LED Sheets are only 240 mm wide and deliver approximately 3,300 lumens per metre.
Light Where There Is Almost No Space
For large backlit surfaces, light output is only part of the equation. The distribution of the light is what ultimately determines the visual result.
Flexible LED Sheets are ideal for applications where a conventional LED strip does not provide sufficient coverage or where only a small distance is available between the LED source and the front panel.
Thanks to the 120° beam angle and high LED density, a highly uniform light surface can already be achieved from approximately 20 to 30 mm installation depth.
Ideal for applications such as:
light walls • natural stone • onyx • translucent panels • counters • bars • ceilings • furniture • displays • architectural features
Divided Across Multiple Powerful 24V Circuits
For reliable operation, the installation is divided into multiple independent circuits.
The 9 m² section is powered by:
4 × 600W / 24V power supplies
The 6 m² section is powered by:
1 × 1000W / 24V power supply
This provides sufficient power reserve while distributing the load across multiple circuits.
Professional PWM Dimming
The installation uses V1-T professional constant-voltage dimmers.
At 24V, each controller can handle up to 480W / 20A and supports several control methods:
RF 2.4 GHz • 0/1-10V • Push Dim
The dimmers provide 4096 dimming levels, resulting in smooth control even at low brightness levels.
The PWM frequency can be configured to:
500 Hz • 2 kHz • 8 kHz • 16 kHz
For locations where photography or video recording is important, a higher PWM frequency can be selected to minimise visible camera flicker or banding.
From Stone Surface to Light Object
This effect is clearly visible in the Sparta Sponsor Box.
With the backlighting switched off, the panels remain stylish architectural surfaces. Once illuminated, colours, veins and textures become more pronounced and the entire atmosphere of the room changes.
By day, material.
By night, atmosphere.
One lighting installation.
Custom LED Backlighting by LEDw@re
No two backlighting projects are the same.
The material, dimensions, translucency, colour temperature, required brightness and available installation depth all determine the right lighting solution.
LEDw@re can engineer and supply the complete system:
LED Sheets • power supplies • PWM control • cabling • circuit distribution • dimming control • technical calculations
From a small illuminated counter to complete walls and ceilings covering dozens of square metres.
